About the Author

Wayne Kelly is a nationally known photojournalism educator and veteran newsman with over 45 years experience in the fields of education and newspapers.

He founded the photojournalism sequence at California State University, Long Beach in 1976. Today, his students work as photojournalists, editors and freelancers throughout the United States.

He began his career at the Indianapolis Star, subsequently moving to the Los Angeles Times where he was a photographer, editor and administrator. Retired, he lives in Murrieta, California where he writes and takes pictures for his website.
